Motor Munich Mini 2014

Product Launch · Barcelona · 2014

Product presentation for Motor Munich, official BMW and MINI dealership in Barcelona. Launch event for the new MINI model for three hundred guests. Full production by Bacus.

The challenge

Three hundred people who already know the product, convened to discover it again.

A product launch for three hundred people in the premium automotive segment cannot be treated as a standard commercial presentation. The attendees are regular buyers, network contacts, and industry professionals who have been purchasing from Motor Munich for years. The event must justify itself on its own terms.

The event has to create the context that gives discovering the new MINI the weight it deserves: not as a product announcement in a showroom, but as a self-contained act the attendee will remember independently of the model they have just seen.

Bacus's response

Full production for a three-hundred-guest presentation in Barcelona.

Bacus produced the launch of the new MINI for Motor Munich in Barcelona with full production: concept, space, audiovisual, catering, and coordination of flow for three hundred people. The event was structured around the product reveal moment as the central narrative axis, with all other production elements in service of that instant.

Technical production included scenic lighting for the reveal, a sound system, access and reception coordination for the guest volume, and catering adapted to the premium dealer client profile. The Barcelona venue was selected for its capacity to host the vehicle as the visual protagonist of the space.

The experience

The MINI presented as it deserves to be presented.

Three hundred people who have seen many cars and many dealer launches experienced an act designed to give the product its own weight. Bacus's production allowed Motor Munich to present the new MINI in a context that the showroom cannot replicate: a transformed space, lighting designed for the vehicle, and a reveal sequence that functions as an act in itself.

Motor Munich's guests left the event having seen the new MINI before it reached the showroom. That advance, produced with criteria, is the way a premium dealer differentiates the relationship with its portfolio from the standard purchasing experience.

The result

Three hundred people at the new MINI launch in Barcelona.

The new MINI launch event for Motor Munich brought three hundred people together in Barcelona. Bacus's full production covered the entire act, from concept to dismantling. Motor Munich presented the new model to its portfolio before the vehicle arrived in the showroom.

Frequently asked questions · Motor Munich Mini 2014

What readers ask after this case.

  • An automotive launch for a premium dealer requires a space with sufficient character to host the vehicle as the visual protagonist and manage the flow of three hundred people without the space feeling saturated. Bacus's production for Motor Munich in Barcelona included venue selection, scenic lighting designed for the vehicle, a sound system, access and reception coordination, catering appropriate to the client segment, and coordination of the reveal's technical sequence. The central criterion is that every production element serves the moment of product discovery, not competes with it.

  • A product launch with its own production convenes guests to an act with a character independent of the product. The showroom presents the available car. The launch event creates the context in which discovering that car carries the weight the brand wants to assign to it. For a dealer like Motor Munich, the difference is also relational: regular buyers who attend a well-produced launch are not buying a car that day, they are being recognised as part of a network that accesses the product before the general public. That recognition is part of the value the dealer provides.

  • An automotive reveal requires complete light control in the space: the car must be in darkness or partial presence before the moment, and the opening lighting must be designed specifically for that vehicle, not be the general ambient lighting of the space. Sound enters in synchrony with the lighting cut: the prior silence and the first second of audio at the reveal moment are programmed, not improvised. Finally, the opening sequence — whether a cover drop, curtain opening, or vehicle entry — must be executed at a speed that generates tension and resolution, not rushing or excessive waiting. Bacus manages these three elements as part of the act's production design.

  • The standard window for premium dealer launches is two to six weeks before showroom availability. The objective is not to keep a secret but to create an access distinction: the regular buyer network sees the car at an event with its own production before anyone walking through the dealer's door can see it. That access distinction, however narrow in time, has relational value. Motor Munich chose to hold this launch before the arrival of the MINI in the showroom in 2014.
